1919 - 1990

1919 - Naissance ; orphelin dès la deuxième année de sa vie ; élevé alors à l'orphelinat.

1939 - Incorporé au 9ème zouave d'Alger. De 1939 à 1948, participe aux événements tragiques qui marquent l'histoire de l'Europe et de la France.

1940 - Rejoint le Général de Gaulle et les forces françaises libres.

1944 - Parachuté le 6 juin en Normandie. Participe ensuite à la Campagne de France et d'Allemagne, avec le grade de lieutenant.

1945 - Se bat en Asie. Parachuté le 11 octobre 1945 au Laos. Citation à l' ordre de l'armée, signée par le Général Leclerc, pour sa bravoure au combat et l'exemple donné (Saïgon le 25 mai 1946).

1948 - Retour du Vietnam. Grand invalide de guerre. C'est alors qu'il s'adonne complètement à la peinture.

1949 - Au cours des annés qui suivent, Pierre Peress ne cessera de peindre.

1990 - Jusqu'à la fin de sa vie, il participe à de nombreuses expositions à Paris et à l'étranger. Ses toiles appréciées, peuvent être trouvées en grand nombre dans le monde entier.

Son style, marqué par les évolutions de sa vie, imprime une extraordinaire variété à sa palette : gris des murs, couleurs vives des paysages, marines et portraits.

1919 - His birth year. An orphan from the very first year of his life ; brought up in an orphanage.

1939 - Called in the army in the 9th regiment of "Zouaves" in Algeria. From 1939 to 1948, takes part in the tragic events which mark the history of Europe and of France.

1940 - Joins General De Gaulle and the French Free Forces.

1944 - Parachuted in Normandy on June 6th. Then takes part in the French and German Campaigns, as a Lieutenant.

1945 - Fights in Asia. Parachuted in Laos on October 11th, 1945. Honored by the army, with the signature of General Leclerc, for his courage on the battle field and the example he set (in Saïgon on May 25th, 1946).

1948 - Back in Vietnam. A great war invalid then he develops a total passion for painting.

1949 - During the following years Pierre will never stop painting.

1990 - Till the end of his life he takes part in many exhibitions in Paris and foreign towns. His paintings are appreciated all over the world where a few hundreds are to be found.

His style, marked by the evolutions of his life, gives his colour range an extraordinary diversity ; grey walls, vividly coloured countrysides, seascapes and portraits. An extraordinary diversity of his works.
